Infrastructure Installation Support
Caley are delivering critical isolation caps and associated equipment to Balfour Beatty for Hinkley Point C. Caley are delivering a full turnkey solution, including design, manufacture, testing, transport and site integration which is a key advantage to the customer.
The scope of work forms part of the marine works project where the installation of concrete heads and the drilling of shafts for four intake channels and two outfall channels, used to provide cooling water to the nuclear power plant, will take place.
Critical Isolation Caps
The isolation caps are the barrier between the horizontal tunnels and the vertical access shafts, they are safety critical during tunnel construction and future maintenance activities. They provide the ability to seal the tunnels at the outboard end, monitor the sealing integrity and enable the eventual controlled flooding of the tunnels. Caley are responsible for the overall delivery of the project and will work with carefully selected supply chain partners to deliver all project components.
