Caley Secures Contract with Austal USA for Safety Critical Lifting Equipment on Heritage-class Offshore Patrol Cutter

Caley Ocean Systems (Caley), part of THREE60 Energy’s (THREE60) Product Solutions Service Line, is delighted to announce the signing of a multi-million-pound contract to provide lifting equipment for the Heritage-class Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) for the United States Coast Guard (USCG) to Austal USA.

Under the contract, Caley will design, manufacture, and deliver on-deck crane systems for five vessels in Austal USA’s USCG OPC program. Each OPC will be equipped with a third boat crane, designed to ensure the rapid deployment of high-speed, rigid-hull inflatable boats (RHIBs) in extreme weather conditions during life-saving missions. Additionally, two store cranes will be provided per OPC, supporting the efficient loading and unloading of essential supplies.

Douglas Morrison, Managing Director of THREE60’s Product Solutions Service Line, said, “We are delighted to have been contracted by Austal USA for the first time to supply these mission-critical crane systems. We have amassed a long and impressive track record in supplying safety-critical mechanical handling equipment across several industries and geographies, and we are excited to bring our knowledge and expertise to this project.”

Caley will support the installation of the systems onto the OPCs in Mobile, Alabama, USA, in support of Austal USA’s delivery of the vessels to the USCG. This project will be supported from Caley’s facilities in both the USA and Scotland.
